im extremely bored with things in my life now..
desperately need some changes...
but what?
i hv two things currently waiting to happened, and until these two 'happens' i cant make any major decisions..
im dying to go back to UK and pursue my PhD but i cant because of these two things..
have to reply to Mara on the scholarship acceptance/or not by end of the month and i want to ask for an extension to next year but even then i cant confirm if im able to make it :(
this sucks!

Day 8 – Your dream wedding
It is ironic and fate and karma..that i am writing this on my closest cousin's wedding day and i am literally putting the finishing touches to the decorations at the hall :)
i have a lot of ideas of how my dream wedding should be but i think, the biggest dream i have is to have my wedding here....

hi, my name is nique and im a bagaholic.
every woman has their vices and mine, mine is handbags..
i cant help it!
i love the smell of a brand new handbag with their lovely dustbag and crisp packaging and chic paperbag, and using it for the first time proudly just makes you feel like everything is going to be alright in this world and nothing can bring you down...sigh...
and so with that, which one do you think i should get to be purchased from the "bonus" i got for being "uninitiative" and "lack ownership" despite the 12 hours per day 25 days per month i put it in this "amazing" and "fantastic" company?

love/hate relationships
the best things about long distance relationships;
1. you only have to juggle between work, friends and family - with minimal guilty feeling about spending too much time with one particular group. cos admit it, when he's around, one of those three will get neglected, if not all :p
2. you learn to do things yourself - not that you dont already know, but it does goes straight out of yur head when he's there to do it for you.
3. no one can talk you out of buying something like that dress that looks exactly similar to the one you are already wearing
4. so with that, no one to give you a long lecture on the importance of savings and minimising your spendings so you wont feel guilty about buying that dress
5. you can go online and see what you like and ask him to buy it for you there cos obviously its cheaper where he is, and they always got nice things there anyway, or when he knows your favourite shops and what you like and buy them for you and keep u updated especially if ITS ON SALE and then the best part is receiving those packages by post!
the downside part of a long distance relationships;
1. when you are excited about something and dying to tell him, u picked up the phone to call him only to realise its 5 am where he is, so you kinda either get (a) get a long lecture or (b) he reacted with a mumble and a yawn. either way, yr exciting news suddenly doesnt sound so exciting anymore huhu
2. when yr dying to watch a movie or eat something or go somewhere and all your girlfriends or siblings already have other plans and there's no one to go with you, you know he would if he's around and of course he wouldnt let you do anything alone :p :p
3. when yr so exhausted and tired after a long hard day at work and need some pampering, he's not around to tell you to leave your car at work, he will come and pick u up, feed you, send you home and the next morning, will pick u up just to send you to work.
4. when its so difficult to make future plans cos his holidays are different than yours! so frustating! :(

super date
was watching How I Met Your Mother season 5 , the one with jennifer lopez in it and the super date and am gushing about how romantic it was..sigh..
sometimes we just need a little appreciation from our loved ones, a gesture that tells us that yes, you are special and we do this because we love u and u deserve it. when u know someone long enough, we tend take each other for granted. like when we make plans to meet, either for dinner or lunch, then watch movie etc, its all so mechanical and expected, the element of surprise is just no longer there.
sometimes isnt it wonderful to have someone who knows exactly what u like or purposely plan a day of which is a total surprise to you and basically swept you of your feet and overwhelmed you? it doesnt have to be your partner or family, even from a friend is already something quite rare these days. doesnt matter if its cliche or gushy or watever, its just human nature to be pampered once in a while :)
the super date in this episode with the carriage ride, dinner, ice skating, opera and a fireworks ending maybe a little bit far fetched and pretty hard to organise :p
someone once surprised me with a day trip to genting highlands, picked me up in the morning, had a leisure breakfast at my favourite place, then we decided to go for a drive, ended up in genting (which was actually planned all along :p) went on all the rides and played all the games and finished it off with a lovely dinner before driving back down to kl, happy and exhausted :p
which, as far as super dates goes, that's pretty way up there :)

talkin' bout shoes!
Although I am never particulary very much into fashion, always believed that the best i could do is make sure everything matches and pants look like pants and skirts look like skirts, not half-skirt-half-handbag-but-can-double-as-a-hat as well kinda do, im allright..
Occasionally under the influence of my best friend (whose life’s is simply devoted to them, but since she’s an amazingly cool person, i wont hold it against her :p) i would venture out of my usual norm and actually browse through the higher end of fashion world and get one really really really really good item and spend the rest of the month eating maggie for breakfast, lunch and dinner..
But shoes, shoes are totally different story..shoes and handbags..ask any of my friends, and they tell you how much i spend on shoes and handbags..and i have them all, all types and all designs for every occasion ever..actually, i dont think any of my friends actually know how many handbags and how many shoes i actually have, simply because even i cant keep track of them, i still have shoes and handbags that i have never used and still in their respective boxes and carrier bags, not to mention stuff that i bought on my trip to Indonesia, the bags and leather sandals i bought in Bangkok (all 4 times that ive been there) and oh, this gorgeous beaded bag i bought in Cambodia (wonder where i put it, hmm) and the lovely and pretty shoes that i got from various parts of the world that is arranged color coordinated in a big shoe box in my room at home next to a big bag box filled with my gorgeous bags.. (oh how i miss my shoes and my bags (sigh))
anyway, here are something for those who loves shoes and handbags as much as i do (adapted from Ms Keyes novel);
How to justify buying as many shoes as you want in five easy-to-follow steps :
1. The economy is slowing down, so we’ve got to keep spending in order to avoid a recession.
2. As my mother always says, if you’re doing a job, do it properly. If you’ve gone to the trouble of going out shopping, make it worth your while - never take the lazy way out by buying just one pair.
3. Your current ones might be stolen by a rabid inner-city fox, so it’s vital to have a back-up pair. Several, actually.

new york 101
im leaving to nyc in less than a month and i think i pretty much got everything covered.
i think.
hmm..
lets see, visa, got it. the process was relatively easy but so tedious! like seriously, it was enough to put me off travelling to US anytime soon but then happily discovered that the visa is actually for 10 years! so i guess it kinda worth the efffort. for those who are interested to know the process, here's the simple step by step.
step one - make payment at alliance bank for the visa application fee, about rm500 - the price slightly increased now due to the low exchange rate.
step two - go online (just google US visa from malaysia) and follow the step by step instructions to fill up the form. the questions are pretty standard but quite lengthy and detailed. make sure you have yr passport with you, yr parents details, yr work details, yr hotel in nyc details etc.
step three - after about 48hrs of submission and receiving the email of received application, you need to go back online and fill up the step by step procedure to obtain and fix an interview date. i chose 7.40am interview, i figured being the first in queue the faster the process.
or so i thought.
step four - the interview. there seems to be no rhyme or reason or logical sequence to interview number. for example, even though my interview session is the earliest session and should complete in an hour, my interview was only done at 10am! and those who arrives for the 8.40am interview, some actually went ahead before me!! so weird right? luckily my travel partner went for the interview the day before mine so actually warned me of the long wait, so i came prepared with a book in hand. so they only called me at 10am, and its not even in a room, its held over the counter, so everyone, and i mean EVERYONE could hear your interview, because the interviewers uses a loud speaker! and my interview? lasted barely a minute! the basic questions they asked are; purpose of visit, who am going with (they actually check the name in the system), where im staying, my work, what i do, my payslip or letter of employement (i came prepared! they warned about this in the FAQ website) and so on and so forth. relatively easy questions but quite intimidating as the interviews booth is quite high that u have to look up to them through a bullet proof glass and you try to answer calmly while they rapidly fire questions in a boomingly loud voice :p
whew!
next, hotel - everyone i know who's been to nyc and the guide books warned us not to stay in manhattan as the price can be crazily expensive for even the no star hotels, so we decided to stay slightly out of manhattan and managed to find a four star hotel in Queens that meets our budget, yeay! and despite the drama about the queens area (which i think comes from too much US tv :p) i have met people who actually lived in that area and declared that its far from the truth, the area is pretty safe and cool and you get a lot of cultural mix so sounds like my kind of neighbourhood. ive stayed at dodgy looking places before (the tiny little apartment on of those dodgy alley near la rambla in barcelona - scary at first but love it in the end! the small hostel in some back lane near the termini station in rome - discovered the best pizza EVER walking distance to where we stayed so twas worth it!) but ive always trusted my instincts when it comes to hotel bookings and so far, i can safely say my instincts can be trusted :) the best part of this hotel in nyc is that its only 15 minutes into manhattan via subway, 10 minutes from JFK via bus and its cheap, comes with breakfast and free parking! (if, and a BIG if, we decided to rent a car hehe)
we even managed to buy our tickets to watch Mary Poppins at the New Amsterdam Theatre, so thats one thing done as well :) i have googled and read about al the places i need to visit in nyc so thats kinda covered too, and oh, even the shopping places :p
a few other things i need to check;
1. we wanted to have a day visit to Washington DC, so now browsing for transport options, either bus or train, kinda looking forward to check out the white house hehe.
2. got a friend up Boston, so might wanna visit her too, but havent decided on this yet.
3. definetely visiting the famous woodbury factory outlet! they have train and busses to go there, but am thinking of driving there, cos we will be ladened with shopping bags, and its easier to just dump it in the car :p but i need a co driver! i can drive left side, have done it in europe before but i cant drive alone so have yet to convince my travel mates to get their international license as well.
4. have listed down the gorgeous eateries and chic restaurants that we have to check out during our visit there, one of it being "Serendipity" cafe, a cafe ive been dying to visit ever since i saw the movie on it, remember, the one with kate beckinsale and john cusack? have not seen it? go see it! a truly romantic movie, sigh!
i have purchased Frommer's guide book on nyc, havent had a chance to fully read it yet, figured i can read it on the plane as it is a 20 hrs flight! yikes! i get stomach already thinking of the long flight there! but luckily i am travelling with my best friends so i think i will be fully entertained or will entertain them throughout the flight! hehe :p
the best part of visiting nyc in october and the one thing im looking forward too the most is the fact that its gonna be AUTUMN in New York! my favourite season of all seasons!
so i googled some lovely pictures (credits given to the photographers from google image website) of autumn in nyc;
isnt it lovely? i hope i get some good pictures from the park, its certainly worth the trip just to see these gorgeous trees..
side note : looking at these pictures made me wish that 'you' can come with me too..sigh..:(

ooh, and its allright and its coming on! we gotta get it right back to where we started from!
wah..lamanya tak update! was trying to be an active blogger and it only lasted a few weeks! takpelah at least ade once week kan kan kan :p
movie reviews urm, ok, Shrek was funny as expected but im kinda bored with Shrek and Donkey cos they are the same in the movie, but Fiona and Puss was fun to watch cos they get to be different kan, so its the new things that makes the movie watchable! and the 3D helps! i actually watched it twice, once on 3d and the other normally, and i have to say without the 3D it can a little bit boring :p
Letters to Juliet is must watch! only if you are a positive non cynical romantic person, otherwise forget it, you might find it tiny bit long and corny. its the story about finding the courage to find yr long lost love, the one that got away. but wat makes this movie is so damn interesting is the location location location! its set in verona italy and its absolutely gorgeous! rome has now taken over amsterdam as my number one favourite place so far and this movie makes me wanna take a month leave and travel around italy! safe to say the movie is pure chick flick so ladies, go and watch with yr gfrends kay :)
Prince of Persia has got to be my fav of all three so far. kenapa? sebab ada jake glynnhall!! hehehe :p someone warned me the movie is corny and cliche but it is a DISNEY movie people, mmg tidak boleh lari dari cornyism itu :p its a bit longish, yes, and the ending mcm could be better but apparently thats the way it is the game pun so ok lah, so all in all, if you are expecting ironman or 300 type of action pack blood bla bla dont bother. but if u like light entertainment and gorgeous eye candy, then do watch it!

movie reviews urm, ok, Shrek was funny as expected but im kinda bored with Shrek and Donkey cos they are the same in the movie, but Fiona and Puss was fun to watch cos they get to be different kan, so its the new things that makes the movie watchable! and the 3D helps! i actually watched it twice, once on 3d and the other normally, and i have to say without the 3D it can a little bit boring :p
